The monument to E.I. Totleben on Historical parkway (Historic Boulevard)
General E.Totleben is one of the famous heroes of the first defense of Sevastopol during Crimean war 1853 - 1856.
The monument to General E.Totleben is in Historical Boulevard not far from the Panorama Building.
He was a talented military engineer and great fortifications builder, under whose leadership the defensive line around Sevastopol was built on land.
The monument itself is 14 m in height and is a complex composition. The general is portrayed in military overcoat observing on land fortifications. Apart from the figure of Totleben there are 5 more figures: 2 soldiers are building the fortification, 2 others are gripping the guns are ready to repulse an attack on those working, a sailor nearby is pointing a gun.
The monument suffered badly during the World War II but then was restored.
